I bought this from the lfs but I don’t know what it is

Well I have it on the sand so I’ll move it
Depending on distance and how long it’s been on the bottom .

Generally most corals start on the bottom to acclimate to lighting . And gradually over time move up to desired location

knowing what lighting they were under prior to purchasing could compare or make it easier to know were to place it or how fast to move to brighter lighting

I’ve had it for a while but under pretty weak lights

How fast do they grow and how high should I have it?
They like flow and light, I would slowly throughout the next few weeks get it closer to the top of the tank where it's happy you'll see it's polyps extended if it's happy. Also you'll want it in an area that doesn't have too much shading on the lower part of the coral.
