I guess, if I were to pick a certain clam, that I thought was "rare" or at least difficult to get in our hobby, it'd have to be the black and white T. maximas. I once saw a gorgeous one, on a certain site, for what I considered a very low price. Unfortunately, someone else saw it, before I did...lol. I added it to the cart, and between me seeing it, and "adding it," someone had beat me to it. They're amazing, rarely seen, and quite expensive, when you do find one!

I was told that this clam was rare, I was even offered $3,000!

I have what I believe is a Blue Squamosa Clam. I got him back in 2005 in a shipment that my friends brought in from Vietnam as a "colored Maxima". In the first pic he was about 6 inches and wasn't even really blue. Yes that's the same clam in the lower right corner of the pic.

Here is a more recent shot from 6 months ago. As you can see he has out grown any possibility of being a Maxima. He must weigh 25 lbs and is as large as a Turkey. This Clam even was named by one of my reef buddies; "Mr. Squirty" for good reason. I allowed a pair of Maroon clowns and a RBTA to get cosy with Mr. Squirty.

Here is a short HD video clip from today taken on my iPhone. Even down on the sand bed he can squirt 3 feet out of the tank when it is uncovered.

Hey Fragman you have a real beauty there, I have seen pic's before on other forums. I think you are local to me and one of my buddy's came over to your house once to get some frags.

Hey Fragman! I met you once upon a time... no mistaking Mr. Squirty! Lol
You still in the frag slinging routine?! I remember your rehoming fees as being quite fair and specimens as pretty darn nice. If so, lemme know... am living on this side of the puddle nowadays and it would be groovy to come harass you sometime.

Hey I'm not here to Hijack this guys Clam Thread. PM me if you want to. I want to see some more Rare Clams, etc.....
