Just took a look at my tank, and my plate is looking kinda funky. I've got two plates, the other one is sitting just a couple inches away and is fine. Every other coral is fine as well. His mouth is all ballooned up and sticking up significantly higher than normal. Almost like he's puckering up. And it looks like there's bubbles under his flesh around his mouth. Should I be worried, or perhaps did he just eat something a little sour? Thanks

what was said previously is probably correct. Move to a lower light area and see how it does there. should move both.

Wow I've never seen anything like that. What lighting is it under currently? How far away is the lighting? This info might help future Plate keepers!

Well, I'll definitely move him down. He is about half way up a 20 gal tank. I'm running a 14k MH phoenix. I just put the bulb in two weeks ago, so the light issue would make the most sense. He was fine this morning when I looked at him. I'll move him and his buddy down to the sand bed. Thanks

These guys are much better suited for the sandbed anyway....I would never put one ontop of your live rock

I have not had one but I have also not seen one but on the sand. So i think that you possibly could be having trouble because it is getting a tad bit to much light. How long has it been there? How are your water parameters. any how goodluck hope it works out

move him to the shade and slowly ease him in to the light over time, sounds like he dont like the light, most likely your lighting system is more powerful then were he came from. i have an area in my tank that is under the shade of some big rock work, this is were all my new corals go to begin with then i work them out and up to were i want them

Sound advice. I moved him down and he likes the sand better. I guess I got away with it before because the old bulbs were old and not putting out enough light to cause problems. He's good now.

Good deal. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone keep these on rocks before. Every pic I've seen has these guys on the sand. Glad its recovering for ya.
