Ive had 2 in the past and for the first 4 days they didnt show but then after that they stayed out all the timePurple firefish is likely to hide a lot. They are quite shy. I'm not trying to discourage you. They are still a real treat in the tank. I just have different expectations. Those spells it spends out and about are a lot of fun and make the wait worth it. They just aren't the consistent splash of color I had hoped for. Just a different kind of awesome.
Mine have always gone the complete opposite. Hang out at the glass for a week or so swimming in the open. Then, cave dwelling. Coming out to eat.Ive had 2 in the past and for the first 4 days they didnt show but then after that they stayed out all the time
I think it really comes down to the other fish in the tankMine have always gone the complete opposite. Hang out at the glass for a week or so swimming in the open. Then, cave dwelling. Coming out to eat.
That should be fine. I have 3 yellow tail damsels in my 40 gal breeder. They are fine and spawn all the time. I would put one or two but not three. They do pair up easy.its a 40 breeder
