And i could have told the wife we couldn't get a diamond goby that I now fued with on a daily basis as I unbury corals lol
Lol! I have a pair of sleeper gobies in my rs 170. Never have to touch the sand but its a dedicated nem system with 3 nems and a large hammer. I have a dragon goby in my 50 and a cave goby in my 15, but the cave goby does not move sand.

My project is to find a new source of income to pay for my fun in this hobby. My husbands last day of work is in three days, and then we will both be retired. I don’t want the money to stop coming in!!! I still have things that I want to buy!
set up frag tank, buy very nice pieces, and fb marketplace sell to make income for reefing.

I plan to ad an Ikea Wardrobe between my tank and the wall to house a 50G Kalk storage tank, dosing equipment and supplies.

With the floating canopy I will house all the ballast and wiring and hopefully only have one wire bridging to the Wardrobe.
That sounds awesome. Will follow your build if you have one! If not please do a build so I can follow and see how it goes for you. I use an ikea cabinet for my electrical and I’ve considered adding a 5g kalk in a carboy to my current small ikea cabinet.

The current inhabitants of my 300-gallon tank will be moved over, including a very large Magnifica anemone, which has outgrown its space (it now takes up half the 300-gallon tank!). While the anemone’s size is one reason for the upgrade, it’s certainly not the only one, if you stay in the hobby long enough and have the budget... a larger tank is only a matter time!

More updates to come as things progress!

I’d love a picture of what whopper in its current setting!

New to the hobby, but tank is cycled and I've got two of cutest Mocha Clownfish now swimming around. Tank is a Red Sea Max nano XXL Im prepping now for Corals. I've just added a wavemaker 25 for better flow control. current project is gathering supplies for fragging , dipping, mounting corals etc. Future project is getting an ATO system I'm amazed at how much water evaporates out of the tank.

Getting an ato was probably the most impactful thing i've ever done in my reefing career. Yes, you can have good results without, they arent mandatory ny anymeans, but I got out of bed so many times after I laid down because "oof! What's the water level at!?"

Sometimes reefing feels like a never ending project! Check one task off the list, and three more pop up. Some small, like mixing this fresh batch of AFR as I type, others massive or downright daunting. What’s the most exciting, challenging, or nerve-wracking reefing endeavor you’ve got coming up? Share your plans! It might inspire someone to add to their list or make others feel better knowing their to-do list isn’t that wild!
I need to replace the other MH bulb, but my arthritis has hit my back again and I can't risk getting over the tank and falling in.

I do have a cool comparison of an old 14k Ushio and new 20K Radion, as I did manage to remove 6 screws to replace the right side already. ( I only put 2 screws back.- My back is screwed.)

Upgrading from 15g innovative marine to Tideline 62g. Tank is paid for just waiting on the delivery. Then will cream a shallow reef mixed tank. I’m looking for a cheap but reliable wave maker for the new 62. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Right now I have my eye set on hygger DC Powerful Wave Maker For Aquarium https://amzn.to/4f9kO38

I've had a new 150 gallon since last Fall that is no where near running, despite having most of the gear I'll need. Other things keep getting in the way, but I swear that tank is coming lol!
Took me almost 1.5 yrs after i bought my tank. Got it in the middle of a major remodel so i could build a custom stand. 6 months later my parent's buy a new house and i spent a year remodeling their house. Filled all that time with more research to keep me interested.

Setting up a 100 gallon reef tank. Going to shopping on Friday per protein skimmer and lighting system Finishing the plumbing on Saturday. Slowly work.
Ing at accumulating the equipment that I'm gonna require. Hopefully putting water in a couple of months. Doing things slowly, step-by-step. Doing as much research on every piece of equipment that I purchase. Luckily there's an amazing store in Toronto. That's a 2 hour bus ride away from where I live. Not driving makes it fun lol. That helped me set up my 33 gallon mini reef.

One thing I want to shout out is my local lfs and community here. Stay tuned as I will start a new thread soon.
