At this point My Purple Tang hasn’t eaten in over a week and is getting thin. I’m seriously thinking g about aborting copper to see if his appetite comes back. Thoughts ?:(

What is your copper at now? I wouldn’t abandon it but if you’re using cheleted copper you can lower it. 1.50 is therapeutic minimum

It almost feels like too many things too fast like a fish ER. I think sometimes we panic and jump the gun with a hundreds different baths and medicines that stresses out and kill the fish. Who knows if they would have died anyway but it’s a trend I notice sometimes that the treatment can be worse than the disease...

I’m not some homeopathic loon but I’ve seen too many fish deaths from overreacting fish parents that shock the fish into a quicker death.

I would lower it to 1.75ppm and see how that works.

+1, that’s fairly high... you want to aim closer to 2.0 in general.

If the tang has been in copper for close to 14 days, could transfer to a second non-medicated tank and observe there for a few weeks as well.

Have you lowered the copper? If so to what level?

How is his eye doing? How long ago did you drop the copper down?

Refresh my memory, have you done a rally bath with these fish to try to get ahead of the infection?

Definitely add in the furan-2 when you track it down, and keep us posted...

I’m going to tag @HotRocks and @4FordFamily to see if they have any other ideas.

Recap: Spots still showing after copper was well over therapeutic, but now recently brought down to 1.75. Has done multiple rounds of kanaplex, now has metroplex in the mix and will add furan-2 when it can be acquired.

Has done a freshwater dip but didn’t see flukes, and a rally bath. Tang has cloudy eyes and not eating.
