Which Kessil?

Yes my tank is 20 inches tall, but I'm not going to be needing any super high PAR levels anytime soon, as I dont have a single coral in the tank yet, and will be starting out with some relatively low level PAR requirements

That being said, once I get my second 360, I will test the par throughout the tank and decide if I will need a third at some point in time. For the time being, two will be just fine :)

I have them mounted 15" from the bottom of the tank, (tank is 12" tall if noticed) not 15" above the water, and it's quite a bit over 200 PAR when I tested. Those two a360 you are referencing would be 20" from bottom correct? Depth makes a big difference.

Nope not a chance haha. Just found a good deal on an open box one for now, going to get it set up and link it to my apex then get a second and let them settle in. In 6 months who knows :P this hobby is so addictive!

Even at a depth of 8", I was only getting 205 PAR (location 3 in the link I provided).

Interesting with two lights it was 200 PAR 13" away. The BRS video a single 360 put out 160 at 18". Wonder why your results were so different from theirs. They got peak of almost 300 12" total away from sensor in the middle.

Anywho instead sure OP is gonna love his 360. I dig the 160s running over my shallow tank although don't run the lights 15" off the water surface, haha.

The distance below the surface falls off much quicker than the air above. They (BRS) indicated 300 PAR at a depth of 6". At a depth of 12", it was around 160 PAR (my measurements were done with the light 5" above the surface so they will be slightly higher).

And yes, I believe Diwrigh will be pleased with the light (two should quite well).

He did multiply the results by 1.32 so the readings would be around 30% lower.

The 1.32 immersion correction was used properly for the full spectrum sensor. The tiny tank also reflects a lot of light and the vast majority of the tank is in the "hot spot" of the LED because of the dimensions as well.

View attachment 791923 So I have some old T5's that came with my 57g rimless tank that I want to upgrade. The tank is 36x18x20.

I currently have no coral and only one fish, some live and dry rock (first tank, about a month old). I have a neptune Apex Jr coming in this week that I want to be able to integrate with my lights. Eventually I want to be able to grow all corals as I expand my experience and research.

That being said, I am going to be upgrading my lights soon, but want to get some that will enable me to have any and all corals in my tank in the future. I'm between the Kessil AP700, two A160WE's, or one/two A360W-E's (maybe keep the T5's and pair with one A360?)

Is the AP700 overkill? Are two A160's underkill? Would having the LED and T5 lighting be worth the difficulty and space? Should I go with narrow or wide angle 160/360's? All thoughts suggestions and opinions are welcome, I've saved for awhile and only want to buy lights once (for this tank of course :p).

I don’t know if this was said or not yet, but the apex jr doesn’t have the variable outlets , so you would either need an apex classic, or the extra module (extra $$$) to run kessils off your apex
