White lips on the clownfish

Hello ,

The clownfish that i bought last week had a small white color on the lips. Now it is geting bigger and more clear? What would be the problem? Any comments?

Whiter pictures would help, but it looks like an injury to me. Often this happens as a result of fighting other clowns. Generally they will clear up on their own, but sometimes can get infected and need to be treated.

That does look like injury/mucus from "lip locking" with another clownfish. You may never see it happen as it is over in a split second and while you are in the room, the clowns will "pretend" to get along.

That said - I can't 100% rule out ich from that picture. Does this fish have any small white spots on its fins or elsewhere on the body, or just its face?

It is just at the face for the moment but it was on the lip now it spread to the face :(

You can try setting up your phone to video the tank then leave the room. In reviewing the video, watch for any behavior between the clowns that could be fighting (even if contact isn’t made).

What about the fighting?

Here, what we think is the [white] female is harassing and we think chewing on the tail of male? [orange] clown. He rarely eats a tiny amount of food. His movements have become delicate and more slight. His lips look pale. It doesn’t look like mucus or spots.

The other fish seem fine. The numbers are good, we’re using the rodi. What about the fighting? It really seems like it’s a big deal. But, if we move him he didn’t eat at all and it was safer keeping him where we can count on the tank values. He’s now hanging out by the rocks, rather than the side of the tank where they used to always be.

The white dots looks like something else. Unfortunately, I'm not well versed in fish disease, but it could be something that needs to be treated versus left to heal on its own.

Sorry, your post is kind of a non- sequiter.

Was it meant for another thread? External fungal infection are REALLY rare in marine fishes, I’ve only seen three cases in 50 years or so.
