Hello! After being away from the hobby for a few years I figured I wanted to get back to it with a fresh start, quarantine everything and no bad hitchhikers on the rocks.
Since I live in Sweden my options for medicine is not as big as in the US. Copper safe and the likes are almost impossible to get by.
So I figured I’d give the ESHA products a go.
While cycling my tank with dry rock I had 2 clownfish in quarantine.
I started with ESHA Trimarin and Oodinex (which supposedly cures ich in 3 days). I know already what you’re gonna say. 3 days is not enough to cure ich.
On day 5 I did a water change and the following weeks I did a few more ESHA products like NDX, ALX, GDEX.
Fast forward and the fish are now in my cycled tank and I have a small Yellow tang in the same quarantine procedure.
But here’s the problem. White spots have covered both clownfish. Do you think this is most likely ich?
Option 1 is to just live with it until I upgrade tank to a bigger one, probably in the second half of 2025. And do a better quarantine when I move them there.
Option 2 is try to catch the clownfish and try to find a better medicine for ich than ESHA, go fallow in my newly cycled tank and put the clownfish with my yellow tang in a 3 month quarantine. Which seems a bit long…
Option 3????
Thanks :)
