White tail bristletooth tang maybe Uronema

Hey everyone my white tail just came out of QT and went into the DT a few days ago and today i noticed things on 1 of his sides the 2 other fish don’t seem to have anything.

It was QTd with copper power for 30 days. I dosed the tank with nitrofurizone and metro after every 100% water change. It was getting daily cipro bathes for the first 5-7 days because it had open wounds that might have been Uronema but I doubt it . The white tail completed QT few days ago along with a starry blenny (same tank). 3 fish didn’t make it a flame angel and 2 clowns also didn’t make it. He’s what it had before and what it has now. None of the fish that died had any open wounds that I can see. Before they were put into the DT they received a formalin bath at 0.6 ML in 1 gallon of water for 1 hour. The whitetail, starry blenny and a rabbit fish just went into a my new tank and they’re all swimming without issue specially the white tail he’s super duper active and grazing on the rocks all day.

So it this Uronema or maybe he scrapped him self? Or got stung by an anemone of torch coral?

This is a sign of injury as tangs rarely if ever get uronema which is oval shaped and attacks tissue of fish
Keep an eye on it for healing and not becoming red or sore
If so, treat fish in separate tank using seachem kanaplex or neoplex with added aeration
Assure it’s not being harassed by other tank mates especially another tang

Just saw pic here- do you by chance have an urchin? May be puncture wounds, doubt bite marks

Yeah I have like 4 urchins 2 very tiny ones like under an inch 1 tuxedo about 2 or 3 inches and 1 Halloween pincushion almost 4 inches

That fish is small confines of QT might lash out.

The bigger affected areas look a lot like bite marks.

Notice how the BT is patrolling the side glass.

No the flame didn’t make it through QT. I never figured out what it was on him but it healed and now it’s something again.

Why is he swimming against the glass like that?

He thinks there’s another BT.
Turn off the light and bet he stops.
Watching the video, I have no concerns.
He’s fast, he defends territory and eats.

Ever since I stopped using pre treats in QT, I’ve lost nothing. All mine get 30 days in QT only, unless I have a very solid diagnosis, then maybe.

Before, most never made it to the DT. Poor appetite, skin discolouration, sometimes death, that’s all I got.

BTW, Iam not recommending anyone do that, buts worked well for years now.

Glad I never became a doctor. I would have been poor.

I’ll keep an eye on it for sure. Maybe it’s the rabbit fish that poked him? They seem to always be close to each other lol since they’re the only 2 fish in a 6 foot tank and they’re both under 3 inches

The next time you feed tank, place cell phone in video mode for 20-30 minutes and walk away- you MUST walk away as they know you’re there and come back and review video and you will get your answer as aggressor is a jerk during feeding time

That’s where he likes to swim? Idk The tank is new no worms or pests. 3 fish were put in the tank at the same time a rabbit fish and a starry blenny and the tang. It’s a 125 gallon tank so there’s plenty of space for them. nothing from the ocean

The tang is always squeezing into super tight places might be why.

Today was the first time I fed the fish in the tank, I gave them 2 days to eat the algae on the aqua scape since it’s been running for 2 weeks with no fish inside just corals, 2 BTA and a mini maxi carpet nem and 4 urchins. I was able to get a better video. Today I saw one of the fins has a white bump on it.

Video is quite blurry and both lighting were not helpful as best is White - Bright White light intensity and no blue
I can sort of see fin which seems to be either Lympho or fin ray issue- both a situation to keep an eye out for healing

Yeah the video is blurry because for some reason it keep uploading as a YouTube short. If you click on the video you can change the quality. I’ll try to upload it again and see if it’s better. I just really hope it’s not Uronema even though I know tangs aren’t prone but still.

These fish rarely if ever get uronema more seen in butterflies, damsels and anthias fish
