I had to catch one of these 2, I would have rather caught the purple but I could only get the yellow.

So you think this aggression will go away? It’s the 2nd day and the purple does this all day so far. Should I black out the side walls somehow to give the yellow some privacy, maybe lower stress? I was thinking a couple hours it would’ve died down but it’s relentless now Day 2

Purples are jerks. I wish they were not. I won’t upset the harmony of my tank for trying to add another.

That being said you never know if yours will chill. 2 days straight is worrisome though. Mine only showed serious aggression to new tank mates for about an hour (two tops). But he would always flare up from time to time until I lost him due to ich.

Yeah I think it’s time for him to go. I kinda figured and I know it’s case by case but I just kinda wanted to get some feedback. Thank you, I agree with you

need to shift his focus either by rearranging some of the rock work or setting up a mirror for the short term. Also feeding by the yellow can limit aggressions promoting communing feeding and showing the purple there is adequate food supply. Also imo is two days not a lot of time to curb aggression between tangs.

Ok I will try that. I meant 2 days in the box. They were in tank for a week after yellow came out of qt. I introduced him in the same acclimation box, released him about a week ago. No aggression from anyone and then things changed about 3 days ago and I had to separate them or else yellow was going to die

The exposure has been longer than 2 days. Purple has been relentless attacking and biting after over a week in the display together
