Worlds longest poop or worm?

Firefish has been in the tank for awhile, months now, eats and is active etc but just came home to this longgggg white thing. Is it the worlds longest poop or worms of some sort? I assume worms but figured I’d confirm and get help for treatment. Thanks!

This is feces and likely due to excess mucus in stomach from feeding either mysis shrimp, brine shrimp or both. I dont think this is cocidea. If you add small TDO pellets and even LRS fish frenzy to diet, you should see a change in color and consistency of feces

Thank you - I mostly feed TDO small and xs and maybe mysis only 1-2x a week.

50 gal tank, been up for about 5.5years and only other fish are a pair of cardinals and a mandarin.

That does look like mucus feces. That can be caused by diet issues and/or gut protozoans.

Can you try feeding frozen adult bribe shrimp as the sake diet for a couple of days? The shells of that help work as a laxative and they are low in fat.
