I bought a blasto from my LFS about a week ago. It is partially damaged, but the colors are incredible on the good part.
I dipped it in Coral RX per instructions before putting it in my tank.
A couple of nights later I notice a pretty big bristle worm looking thing sticking it's head out and moving across the top of the coral. It was not colored like the rest of the bristle worms in my tank with the red ends. This one was all grey, at least the part I saw. Then I watched it more, and it looks like the coral is dead exactly where this worm would stick out and move.
I am sure it was not eating the coral, but could it have been bothering it enough by moving in the same spot long enough to kill the coral in that area?
I tried a bristle worm trap near the coral and the worm would go halfway in but never all the way.
I ended up dipping the coral again for 45 minutes and killed the worm, although it never came out of the rock the coral is on. I am sure it is dead because all kinds of other critters died in this dip, including two small bristle worms.
