Wrasse Help!

So I'm really in a wrasse mood, I want either a Attenuatus flasher or a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse. Can Either be kept as a duo or a trio? Also where can i find a Attenuatus Flasher wrasse?

It's very possible. I have 5 Mckoskers in my 225g reef along with an Attenuatus Flasher. But I have no idea where to find another one. I only saw 3 for sale on Liveaquaria and I was lucky enough to get one of them. And I know Marvin got one of the others.

How much did you pay? And you have five Mckoskers on there site they suggest only one per tank how are they doing i think i would like a pair of males since females seem to be non existent, then a Attenuatus if i can find one.

Where did you get yours from and how much did you pay? Sorry asking how much question i just want to know if its like a 900 doller trip or a 300 trio.

Mine are from LiveAquaria as well with 1 male and 2 females. You are closer to the top end as the male alone I believe was close to $300, but Brad or Marvin will have to chime in as I can't recall the exact cost. The Mckoskers would be the cheaper option.

Yea, i wanted to house both though. They both seem VERY similar to each-other what are the differences.

I don't think anything can compare to the bright coloration of the male attenuatus! The photo can't capture the true beauty of this fish and his colors.

Grrr thanks for the photo make me drool a little but. I think im going to set up my screen and order a pair of the Mccorskers and then call around for a pair of the other ones. Quick question i dont have a tremendous amount of hiding spots in my tank is that ok.

yeah, yeah! yours and Brad's are studs. LoL. mine gets chased around by the Hooded. other than that, he's fine and growing slowly. I need to find a smaller flasher for him to chase around and hopefully distract the Hooded too. I do like a few other flashers so that's in the works. just need to find 'em locally.

m and m: how big is your tank? if it's big enough, you should be okay with a few Mc Kosker's. I had 3 in the 110g before and they did okay. just make sure you add them all at the same time and somewhat different sizes. they will have squabbles but shouldn't be fatal. good luck. I hope you find an Attenuatus down the road. they are truly beautiful. :)

Wow Sara. How the heck did Gary get that shot. LOL They move soooo fast it's almost impossible to catch them flashing , let alone stop long enough to get a clear picture. My hats off to Gary. But he's the pro. If I recall right, They weren't quite that expensive. A little under $200 plus shipping. But the enjoyment of watching them flash is priceless.:bigsmile:

This is as good as I can get. One with the halides off under my actinics and another shot under normal lighting.

Gary is the man when it comes to photography. I've witnessed first hand when they came by a months ago. if I remember correctly, I purchased the very 1st one from DD around May and it was $150 plus shipping. :)

so we got ourselves a mccoskers today from fosters. brought him home and aclimated him , he is now in a screen box in tank with a lid. since he has been placed in the box, he doesnt move much just lays on the bottom of the screen box, his back half is resting on screen and head is looking around, is this normal wrasse behavior?

ok so this am, he is hanging out in the pvc i put in there for him, but still no swimming just chiiling, Is this Normal?
