I am hoping my rock shows at the airport tomorrow night. TBS asked and I said yes but dont have tracking yet.
I spread the stuff I have like this
IMG_1213-X2.jpg

I plan to spread the live rock over the top and sump pieces I don't like. Which may go right out the window when I see it.
Ammonia went up to 1 and back to zero and nitrates appeared so It should be ready to not kill what is on the rock. The skimmer settled in today and stopped being a fountain of foam.
There is bunch of algae growing already. Oh Noes.

It is interesting to note the algae in the big tank is pretty and green but the stuff in the small tank under the BB is ugly and grey. It's a Viparspectra with both channels running 90%. I have no idea why.

Rock is shipping tomorrow. They just emailed me.

It is starting to look the way I envisioned it before we bought this house. A lot of planning and scheming and work over a long time with a couple of interesting disease sidetracks and a grand daughter thrown in too.

The rest of the rock arrives tonight unless something goes wrong.
I will have to call the freight terminal this afternoon and see if I can do an after hours pickup or get it in the morning.

I ended up here after my son pushed me to do something I didn't want to do. Set up another tank.
I had quit. I had a 30 gallon cube with one fish left. My son reminded me I never do that. I was setting around waiting to die. Never a good plan. 4 years of quickly going down hill. From being a person good at an important job to somebody that could barley take care of them self. So I started my favorite thing to do. Make something out of stuff laying around. To at least take my mind off things. I had to buy some things so I went to BRS which led me here.

16 months ago a tank my son left when they moved to NC. It is a beautiful freshwater comunity tank there now at his house.
Then I figured some stuff out, got some new doctors and got a bit angry for a while because I wasn't really ready to go. I probably shared a bit of that on here though I try not to.
Only 1/2 of the cylinders are firing now but I can and have worked with that. Being really stubborn helps.
I probably the hardest headed person you will ever meet. But I can do it to myself. If I think I cant do something I make myself do it anyway.

Never tell yourself you can't. Where this is will there is a way.

Unboxed it and stuck it in for the night
IMG_1215-XL.jpg

Lots of stuff on the rocks. Hermits, crabs, stars, worms, an urchin, macro, sponges, feather dusters, bivalves, lots of Idontknows and a conch. They rock itself looks very good. Came to 6.66 a pound. $1000 with shipping for 150 pounds. More will go in the sump after I can look at it better. I had it how I wanted but had 30 pounds left to put in and the last box was big pieces.
Now to let it run and skim the heck out of it.

Time for a shower.

Got up early. Added 2 Jebao SOW-20 pumps in. That brings the flow to about 10,000 gph from each end of the tank. Moved a few rocks off the back. I think I will ask for some Tunze pumps for my birthday. The Rossmonts seem to work OK but the mounts dont bend enough to use on the back.
The Jebaos will end up mixing water. I run a lot of flow while I mature a tank. I believe it keeps the brown goo and dinos and stuff away.

Got some room on the sand out front

So it's mostly going to look like this for a while now.

Did you cut that cave into the rock on the bottom left?

I see tanks that have been up for months that look like moonscapes.
The little tank in the fish room. I dosed it with pods today. They are all over the glass.
at about 3 weeks
Guess I need to drop a conch in there.
IMG_1259-X3.jpg

The big tank doesn't look like that though. That was kind of the point I guess.

I dosed the tanks with phyto and it seems to be growing on the glass now.
In other news the RFA spawned in the 75. I guess I need to get another one.

The center sections are 2 pieces to do feedings and stuff.

6 blue reef chromis from LA, the rest are from the LFS.
kole tang
bicolor angel
koran angel
cleaner wrasse
2 emerald crabs
2 sally lightfoot crabs
6 conchs
urchin came on the rock

In a few days I will move the foxface, blue and sailfin from the 75 over.
