We have been on generator power 2 days now after a small but violent storm came through.

It was Spider Karma. A large spider was in the sink and Jill wanted me to kill it. I caught it and took it outside. It had baby ones all over it and I knocked some off. I washed them down the drain. I tried to catch them but they were so small

Then the storm came. A tiny angry blob on the radar that passed right over our house with 70mph winds. No stop lights and many places closed yesterday. People dont know what to do if the stop lights dont work. It was kaos at intersections.

No time to clean the glass even. Yesterday was 91 year old painful testicles and 2 new specialist referrals. Today I see a new doctor about my knees. But I cant get them fixed. No time off to do it.

Louie is biting my fat through the side of the chair.

The correct response is to flip him upside down and rub his stomach while he purrs.

I have to go to the hospital and see about copies of knee x rays.

There are a lot of things going on here and none of them have to do with fish tanks or anything fun at all.

Now if you want to talk about growths in my throat or the strange things that grow on old men I am your guy.

Our 40th anniversary was Friday. I guess we will go for 40 more. I would be 102. She would still be 37 so that would be kind of exciting.

I have ordered another Hydros X3. I am going to convert the kalk stirrer to straight dosing with level sensors and have a pH probe. I cant keep it consistent. I was originally going to increase the output tube to 1/2 inch but this will be easier. It is a 22 gallon closed vessel with the top bolted on that is almost air tight. Open the valve until the sensor shows it's full. Add the kalk. Run the stir pump. Check the pH. Resume dosing schedule.

My Hanna phosphate checker has decided to go wonky. I got a bad case of cyano going. I greatly increased the LaCl dose.
Then I did 2 typhoon treatments. I blow everything off and stir the bottom with a maxijet held in my hand. This raises a great cloud of goo into the water. I put a second maxijet in the top of the tank with the venturi that comes with them installed. It makes a huge swarm of bubbles. The bubbles stick to the goo and it goes down the drains. The water clears right up. I did add a filter sock in the sump that had to be changed every 20 minutes and empty the skimmer bucket a lot.
This morning
IMG_4633-M.jpg

I managed to energize myself when I wanted to unplug them pumps. That was very exhilarating. One wet hand holding the end of the extension cord and the other in the tank holding the pump. I escaped though.

Earnest fell again last night going to bed. We ran upstairs after the thump. I grabbed him around the chest and picked him up after making sure nothing was broke and off to the hospital. I haven't seen him yet this morning.

All this excitement and soon we will have a large growing puppy too in 3-4 more weeks. Still trying to think of a cool name.

I put the 75 in the fish room. It's a bit tight in there. It would be fine if I picked up all the stuff in the floor. For now I gave the big crab a nicer place to live than an old tub.
IMG_4879-L.jpg

I have put off getting it wet until I decided what to put in it. I think I am going to get 40 pounds of live rock and some live sand from TBS and see if I can get some new pests into my system. I so wish I lived near the ocean but my life didnt work out that way.

I have considered everything from seahorses to crabs to an octopus. Most things I would like would like to try require live food and the reliable sources went away.

I am also procrastinating because of the impending knee replacement and surgical consult for my back. I am in a lot of pain at times. I have a really big puppy and a really old guy to take care of.

Earnest is slipping mentally and getting harder to interact with. We are having a stair climber installed. Jill is really stressed by him. Sometimes the demon voice comes out. I put garlic under her pillow at night and sneak Holy water into the CPAP humidifier some nights. So far her head hasn't spun all the way around.

Paddy is now bigger than our other 3 dogs. He is really a great pup with no bad traits.

It is funny that he has gone through the dog toys and his favorites are the ones that belonged to Bear like the giant Kong Wubba and this really big ball with a rope through it. His feet go clump clump clump on the floor and you always know where he is. I get in the floor and play with him and he likes to lay on top of me.
Makes me smile.

I take it he's a alsation or German shepherd? Never can tell which is which if there is even a difference at all ?
Got something in my head saying German shepherd = German and alsation = Belgium?
Or something to do with short hair or long hair ? I really have forgotten pffft but cute pup none the less

Edit: just googled it lol
Watch you say its neither now lol

Oops
When you change the AWC drain timer from 6 minutes to 7 hours instead of 7 minutes you are going to come home to problems like an empty system. Just doing exactly what I told it to.
Luckily we came home before they were insurmountable problems.

Must be Monday

Today, I ordered an SRO-8000i to replace the 5000. It's just not big enough. New one is 16 inches in diameter.
Hopefully this giant thing will get the dirt out faster than the tanks make it again.

Wednesday I get injected with radioactive dye and have my brain scanned again. Takes 5 hours.

RODI isnt big enough either. I am going to 2 20 inch DI cannisters so I don't have to refill them so often and adding a second carbon block. That's all ordered. I will go to 100gpd membranes or bigger with a booster pump. Not thinking about that right now though.

Brain scan came back normal. No sign of Parkinson's. I am not sure what that means for the future.

I have things to do. SRO 5000 and 8000 bodies

and it's running. Needed no break in.

The drain is at a bad angle and I need to figure something out for that.
