Our 40th anniversary was Friday. I guess we will go for 40 more. I would be 102. She would still be 37 so that would be kind of exciting.
I have ordered another Hydros X3. I am going to convert the kalk stirrer to straight dosing with level sensors and have a pH probe. I cant keep it consistent. I was originally going to increase the output tube to 1/2 inch but this will be easier. It is a 22 gallon closed vessel with the top bolted on that is almost air tight. Open the valve until the sensor shows it's full. Add the kalk. Run the stir pump. Check the pH. Resume dosing schedule.
My Hanna phosphate checker has decided to go wonky. I got a bad case of cyano going. I greatly increased the LaCl dose.
Then I did 2 typhoon treatments. I blow everything off and stir the bottom with a maxijet held in my hand. This raises a great cloud of goo into the water. I put a second maxijet in the top of the tank with the venturi that comes with them installed. It makes a huge swarm of bubbles. The bubbles stick to the goo and it goes down the drains. The water clears right up. I did add a filter sock in the sump that had to be changed every 20 minutes and empty the skimmer bucket a lot.
This morning
I managed to energize myself when I wanted to unplug them pumps. That was very exhilarating. One wet hand holding the end of the extension cord and the other in the tank holding the pump. I escaped though.
Earnest fell again last night going to bed. We ran upstairs after the thump. I grabbed him around the chest and picked him up after making sure nothing was broke and off to the hospital. I haven't seen him yet this morning.
All this excitement and soon we will have a large growing puppy too in 3-4 more weeks. Still trying to think of a cool name.
