Here is the build of my frag tank:
Rimless sump:

Where the tank started out (the stand is on a custom 48"x21" table):

I am not worried about the weight the stand has to hold since the tank will hold about 12 gallons of water. 12 x ~8.35 = 100.2 . I sat on the stand for about 30 minutes and tried bouncing and wiggling on it. There was very little movement. If I have some extra wood left over I will reinforce the legs a little more.

The bar coming from the back of the tank will hold track lighting. I have picked out this fixture because I can get more movement out of the bulb placement.

Here is the stand Painted before the holes for the overflow and installion of the track lighting.

I was debating painting the back and sides of the sump black as well, but ran out of paint so the decision was not to paint it.

I used rubble out of my 75G's sump. Here are pics with water.

I wound up having to move the tank to the other wall due to the moisture messing with my computer.

All this posting and your frag tank slipped by lol - Looks like a sweet build!! Did you make the sump?

yes and no. I used a 20L and and turned it in to a sump. It used to be on my 75G, but I upgraded to a 30G fo added water volume and a little extra sump space. I decided to take the rim off just because I felt like it one day.

Nice!!......looking forward to seeing this done:bigsmile:!
what lighting will u be using? filtration?

Nothing like just feeling like it LOL - It came out very nice btw...cant wait to see you get some frags in there!

Same here, I am tired of having frags of the idaho grape I keep punching off my cap glued to plugs on my frag rack. I have punched off about 10" off that cap overall so far. It was such a bad decision to glue it there.

I am running a Bubble Magus NAC6 on it and some run-o-the-mill t5 lighting. I have more photos to add tomorrow or the next day.
