I have a brand new gen5 xr30 pro with rms mount. I have yet to open. Am I better off running two xr30 pros or three xr15 Guess I should have ask before I bought it. Lights are going on a 150 lps tank 60-24-24.

Typically its better to have multiple smaller lights than fewer bigger ones. However, I don't think it will be too big of a deal especially since it not an sps dominant tank. You can always add an xr15 in the middle of the tank later if two xr30's are not enough.

Yea. I think I might try and sell the xr30 and just go buy the xr15s

Honestly, I do think that two xr30's is fine for that tank. BRS has a video demonstrating two of them on a 48 inch tank and I can't imagine an extra 12 inches of length in the tank would make any difference for you.

I had a tank that size and used a XR30 in the middle with a XR15 either side of it, worked perfectly!

Much better off with the 2 XR 30 pros, much better spread then 3 XR 15's, and you can always add another XR 30 to complete the lighting.

Can you explain why the spread is better?

On a 60 inch long tank for LPS and softies, three xr30s would be too much.
