Hi All,

We have had a yellow tang for about 3 weeks now. This morning we noticed he looked a little pale. After coming home this afternoon he looks very skinny, his stomach looks indented and he is making rapid breathing motions...

Any help?

Is he in a quarantine? Any medications?

This will greatly aid our ability to help.

His color looks way better than this morning but overall he is looking worse ...

He is also still swimming around. The only thing odd we have noticed is he keeps swimming up to the top and he does not usually hang out at the top of the tank

This happened to my 1st yellow tang. Culprit was stray voltage. Do you have a ground probe installed? Do you have a volt meter to check?

He looks very thin. What are you feeding him and how often? How long have you had him for?

We have seaweed available on the clip. We give pellets twice daily and mysis every other day.

So he has been taking food this whole time? How long have you had him for and was he this thin when you bought him?

Wednesday will be 4 weeks. He did not look like all sunken in this morning. I really checked him out because he looked so pale this morning. But neither Hubby or I noticed him looking any different other than color.

He does not fight for food but he has been eating. He does not really care for the sea weed. And no he was not this thin when we got him. Wednesday will be 4 weeks that we have had him

I guess I would wonder if he has an intestinal issue going on flukes, etc. Hopefully @Humblefish @melypr1985 can comment

Dorsal fin almost looks a little beat up but could just be the picture.

When we bought him he had almost a "chip" taken out of it. So its been that way since he came home. I sure hope he doesn't have intestinal issues :(

Thanks for you help!

I would feed frozen more often, pellets should be avoided (forever imo but especially if trying to get fish to eat). I soak mixed frozen foods in selcon and garlic guard after straining them.

He is quite thin, feed a couple small meals per day.
