Zoanthids vs. Acropora: Which Coral Gets Your Vote?

These two popular corals often get a spotlight in reef aquariums, but everyone has their own preferences. We want to know which one you love more and why! Are you mesmerized by the vibrant colors, unique patterns, and diverse morphs of Zoanthids? Or do you find yourself drawn to the intricate branching structures and stunning growth forms of Acropora?

Which one gets your vote and why?

Haven’t gotten much into acroporas yet, so my vote for zoas may be a little bit biased. However, it probably depends on the type, cost, and how easily they can be grown. I personally can’t justify paying $500 for a stick that may or may not survive, but the same can probably be said for spending $500 on a single polyp that could melt away…

A full tank of large colonies of healthy acros looks better than one with zoas, but in an average, small scale, medium-low maintenance tank, the zoas come out on top. Really depends on what you want to achieve.

Going to have to go with zoas on this one. I don't feel ready for acros yet but zoas? Feel good about those

I've yet to join the world of sps, lol. But I heard that Acropora are hard to keep which is unfortunate because I really want an acro. But yet again zoa's are absolutely gorgeous and I would go with one any time.

Cant beat a tank full of colorful sticks but the care and risks. . . . Zoas are my pick for ease of care-color-costs and forgiveness
