Hi all, I recently upgraded to ai hydra 52 (4x) over my 150gal (6ft tank). Corals are loving the upgrade however I am over run now with algae in the sand bed, walls and rock. I was running for 11hrs but dropped it down to 8. Nutrients all within limits. I am newer to the hobby, a year and a...

    Red Sea Reef LED 90’s

Hey, I started my Red Sea Reefer 350 about 3 months ago and decided on 2 of the RSReefLED 90’s for the lighting. As I’m fairly new to the hobby, I liked the fact they have limited options to change with colours etc. Recently added a couple of low need starter corals (Devils Hand & Pulsing...

Hi R2R family: what are you guys, I'm going to start cycling with my tank, I'll use the mature pro kit from Red Sea, my question is this: in the kit manual it says to keep a cycle of 10 hours of light, but I've heard many recommendations from Do not occupy light to prevent the creation of...

    melanurus wrasse Question.

So I got a Melanurus wrasse about 3 days ago. He’s a cool fish eats well and very active with one small problem. He hides in the sand bed when my daylights are on. I work overnights so my daylights run from 130-1030pm. During this time the wrasse is hiding in the sand bed even when I feed. I’m...

    Kessil Programming

I recently set up 2 Kessil pendants over my tank. I programmed the sectrum and intensities and set it on acclimation mode. It is moving through each mode smoothly and I'm liking what I am seeing. My only problem is that it doesn't ever actually turn all the way off. I thought it would turn off...

How long is too long, to run your lights?

How long do you run your lights (full intensity) each day? I turn my full spectrum on my tank before I got to work, and they stay on for about 8-9 hours, then when I get home I switch them to blue lights for about another 1-2 hours before it's lights out... Is this to long?

    Light schedule during the cycle?

I'm starting a brand new all dry rock, live sand aquarium with the help of Red Sea's reef mature kit. I'd just like to know when my LED's should be on during the cycle. I've heard mixed opinions on this topic. Everyone saying keep them off seems to be to reduce algae though.

LED lighting for an Algae Scrubber Questiin

I will soon be building a DIY algae scrubber for my refugium. All the research I've done suggests the light cycle for it should be similar to the light cycle for my refugium, which I get. My question is, do I still need to run a light cycle on my refugium, or only on the scrubber? The light from...
