Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Just to be sure, do you have an acclimation box you could put them in for a couple weeks and see how they respond?

Right now I don't have, but i can get one

I'm wondering if it's the high nutrients? Just a thought, but I've read high nutrients may eventually affect corals? And maybe the favias are most sensitive?
It could be yes, 100%, but the strange thing is that the tank has always remained above 1.0 po4, right now I'm trying to lower it but it's going slowly

So begins my pico tank! Picked up the live rock and the sand at the lfs as well as 2 emerald crabs to add to my 125. I was not going to buy live rock because I want to use what the super awesome @Usarmy227 has sent Mr but it's a small piece that had a couple of small red mushrooms on it. It was the owners sister there today that I like and she didn't charge me extra for the mushrooms.

Woah! What are your plans for the pico Amanda?

I hope the little fellow turns the corner. Ask your vet about a prescription for Kepra. It controls seizures well. I’m on it and so was my Australian shepherd.
We're trying to avoid anti seizure meds. Our vet says they have them but prefer not to prescribe them if it doesn't become a huge problem.

Apparently he had 3 more after I left this morning but he's doing ok. I'm afraid there's mor coming - he's acting calm which tells me he can sense something is "off".

Thanks! I’ve been lurking for awhile; this thread is a little intimidating — so many posts. I cannot keep up very well.
Welcome, just jump in right where you are at!

Woah! What are your plans for the pico Amanda?
I'm thinking micro algea and maybe some easy small coral like zoas or small softies which is why I wanted the rock from the lfs. Then I have a pompom crab in my acclimation box in the 125 that I will move to it when I know it's safe. Other than that I'm thinking maybe a sexy shrimp or other shrimp that stays small and a cuc of course. I have an extra HOB filter I will use for flow and filtration. And I have a light but it isn't for reef tanks I could move the reef led 50 to it but I'm not sure if it would be too strong. I am open to suggestions of course on setup and inhabitants.

@ShakeyGizzard
What did you do to get rid ...

Shortened my light schedule by 2 hours, removed chato from sump, and allowed nutrient levels to rise. Clean the sand, clean the sand, and clean the sand some more. Takes time to get rid of it
Thank you sir. I'm slowly upping my nutrients. N was 3.12 and P was 0.03 this morning. I'm raising N to around 10, but SLOWLY
