Just wanted to give a quick update. About an hour after this post, the heads were fully open again and all was well in reefville.

Things are looking OK today after yesterday's rip apart session.

I took out rocks on the side I didn't do yesterday and scrubbed them today and cleaned the glass both front and back. I hate it when I sit down after i think I have thee glass clean and see a spot I missed. Lol

what's that magic grow light on the mangroves? I have a bunch coming from RC this week try and give it another shot. last ones were from petco and I think they didnt make it because I put them in the tank. I think they do not salt water acclimate those and needed to do the gradual salinity increase. any ideas are greatly appreciated. I'd like to sump them with light during the day, not night.

I run mine during the day.
Too bright for me at night.
It's just a 5000K daylight bulb from home depot in a clamp light plugged into a wall timer.
These all started as propuguales (sp.), shootsx seeds whatever.
I just stuck them in the sand.

All the ones I bought rooted with leaves never made it.
No I think 2 did.
Those were the 2 I put in a cup of water, left by the window and filled with tank water every time water evaporated.
Took a long time to acclimate.
Osmotic shock is what kills most of them.

we have coffee too. comes in really cute lighthouses. it's how we stay lit. oh, it's actually brandy but they add coffee flavoring.

I've been saying that a lot lately. I prefer Folgers in my cup rather than in my mouth. Not a fan of Folgers.

No I think 2 did.
Those were the 2 I put in a cup of water, left by the window and filled with tank water every time water evaporated.
Took a long time to acclimate.

I'm going to put mine in a bucket of freshwater, and acclimate it to the sun, then leave it out all summer so I can hopefully get some growth.
