Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
do you think putting them in a glass with the tank sand and water is better? I have sunny windows as well as grow lights for sun. Just want to get them to work. It's just about the only plant I haven't been able to establish yet.
A lot of it depends on 2 things.
Are they rooting now and if so, how did the seller grow them out?
A glass by the window works wonderful, add a little tank water at a time but when you transfer you have to be careful of the roots.
If they are just seeds you don't have to acclimate, really.

I lost probably 2 dozen mangroves before I learned how to handle them and what they needed.
You also have to mist them every day if in saltwater.
They bleed the salt through their leaves.
I love them personally they bring me joy.

honestly I don't know yet. RC says rooted and sprouted red mangrove. they are a good price so I wanted to try again.

When you get them I'm more than happy to help you Paul that's what I'm here for!

I'd drink Maxwell House over Folgers any day. Was my go to for a while.
Folgers was Dennys rot gut go to for years.
Maxwell House was like gourmet when I was a kid.

Growing up mom and dad always insisted on JFG, then they switched to folgers.

I love mangroves too!!

I have a red mangrove that uses a process, very similar to reverse osmosis to keep salt out of its system! It can filter up to 95% of the salt out of the water. The remaining salt will go into an older leave, and then gets shed! I find this so cool. But this is why it's so important to keep the roots intact, because one small little break, and a lot of saltwater can get in, which will kill the mangrove. If this does happen, grow the mangrove in freshwater until it heals.

Happy birthday, Puppies. 1 year old already. Time really does go by fast! We gave them some treats over the last few days, here are some photos of them waiting patiently!

Happy Birthday puppies!!!!

Just wanted to give a quick update. About an hour after this post, the heads were fully open again and all was well in reefville.
My hammers seem kind of mehh the last 2 days. Not retracted but not full extension. They were close to each other so I put one elsewhere to see if maybe they were just getting sick of each other's company? They were touching depending on water flow
