@Kipp's Corals Home Depot, Lowe's, and Ace Hardware will often have reducer fittings. You can buy the right size and not have to use multiple adapters. Purchase a 1" x whatever size slip to slip adapter.

I have that same maxspect pump but i upgraded to a reeflo pump. Got all the gph now. Only problem is it's loud enough that I gotta figure out how to silence it a little bit more. You can hear in hum through the house :face-with-rolling-eyes:

Can you give me a little background on your tank? How much was the reeflo, I got the maxspect on here for 180.00 new. So I got a good deal on it. Would like the flow but don’t wanna go back out and pick up more gate valves as I also got a great deal and have about 6 of them. If I were to go with 1.25 or 1.50 pipe I would have to rebuy everything.

So my options are
1) reduce the maxspect
2) buy a new pump
3) buy all new size pipe, unions, valves.

I’m building a 125. I’m going all red pvc but using white as a mock up for now.

Looks like probably a 1.5" female thread by 1" slip is what you need.

Not familiar with the pump is it threaded to accept the barb fitting?
If so I’m assuming it’s 1.25 FPT on the pump itself so all you would need is this https://pvcpipesupplies.com/1-1-4-x-1-male-adapter-436-168.html

Hmmmm! Interesting... thread a female or reducer into the housing? I wonder if it's the same threads... I have this same pump i might have to investigate this if that's not how he does it

The reeflo hammerhead/barracuda gold was like $500. But I needed the higher head pressure. This gives me about 1200 gph with the lower gph impeller installed after rising 15' and running about 10' horizontally

@Kipp's Corals i also had to kick and complain because the for sale add showed a Baldor motor and it showed up with a Chinese no name brand motor so after complaining I sent the first back and got one with a Baldor but I think that's either no longer available or a premium price now

I have about 4 or 5' of spa flex off my motor but I think it's still rigid enough to not isolate the sound as much as I'd like.i think it resonates through the spa flex and pipe till it gets to my joist hanger and resonates through the house

Funny I am dealing with same issue with my vectra my solution is hopefully hose barbs and a section of Silicone tubing 8”-1’ to isolate vibrations causing hum in the pvc BRS wants 10$ for a 1ft piece sounds crazy but I was at the plumbing supply house for work this morning they don’t have the tubing but suggested a brewery suply in town on my way end of today let you know if this works

In my situation I tried a silicone pad under the pump helped a little but I still hear it it’s a hum from the pump itself I’ve had a ticket in with ecotech went through it took it apart made sure it was clean they eventually determined it to be “noise from head pressure” causing a strain the impeller even though I’m under the max head pressure but I have spoken to others with the vectra some seems like they all have a slight hum but my manifold s1 is virtually silent
