Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I think you get more than what they show and the free ship over $200 is a game changer! you get the most bang for the buck there I believe.
I think their prices are good. This is my invoice for my last order.

Oh so I need math help. I am mixing about 30 gallons and right now the salinity is at 1.023 my tank is at 1.025. Is that close enough to not cause issues when I do a water change tomorrow or should I add more salt. And if I should add more how much should I add?
I'd tweak more salt in. I store mine in jugs so it's ready to change down the road. I just need to actually change it. 🙄 I don't heat it though. my tank is 76 and house temp is 72. I use a 2L pitcher. only turn off the ATO and main pump but leave on MP40's and heater. scoop out 16 pitchers and it is still below MP40's and then add 16 pitchers back. turn on pump, then after about 5 minutes to equalize I turn ATO back on. maybe not ideal but using siphons, pumps etc... is just a lot more work and stuff to clean I have found. and trying to lift 4 gallons up 5 feet to pour in is to tolling on the back.

I really like their carnations they currently have. I have been pondering ordering the orange one. they also have a nice pink one. they are big and bright. I don't have the time to watch a tiny frag to grow out. I have also been considering a Rasta but need to buy some other non reefing items next.

I store mine in a 30 gallon barrel sometimes I do 15 gallon changes but most of the time I do 30. I turn of the tank pump and then hook a water hose up to a different pump and run it outside and pump it out of the sump then I put the pump in the barrel and pump the clean water into the sump. I can't carry more than about 3 gallons of water because of my back so the pump makes life so much easier. I have another barrel I keep for clean RO water for topping off the ATOs reservoirs on both tanks.

I'm glad you understand these back issues. I never did it but I had planned to mix water upstairs and roll it over to the balcony and use gravity to fill the tank after emptying for the WC. When I had the pctopus I needed to do it fairly quick because she always came out to play and see what was going on. so I used a AI pump that would suck it out really fast and then turn around and drop it back in to refill but it was always messy then more to clean up. the pitcher takes like 10 minutes and use a towel under it after scooping for no mess. sink dump or straight out the front door. the only thing I really need to lift now is the 5 gal ATO jugs. But I can just balance that on my knee and don't need to really lift it.

Those are stunning!
I won't be mad if you want to buy those 😊
a torch and a chalice are the next ones when I get there. thinking of a blotchy anthias too if they are OK at 76 and a urchin.

I am well versed in back issues I had surgery a few years ago. I had two disk that were bulging and pinching nerves as well as 4 disk that were completely degenerated. So they put in cement disk and a bracket that is about 4 inch or so long that I think is made of titanium or something.

I have to recover from this last spending spree before I can buy more.

This is an acan echinata, right? The guy at the store said it looked like a blastomussa but he wasn't sure. I don't think that's right though.
