Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Glad you are handling it well. another day tomorrow?
Just one this week. One more next Monday then 2 in mid October. Think I'll take tomorrow off from work to rest up and then hopefully be okay for Weds thru Fri. I worked Thurs-Fri last week and really had to drag myself through those days.

Good plan Wes.

Pros/cons of using one I'm your opinion?
I used it primarily for mechanical filter, carbon/etc and filter pads.
Used it for surface agitation for years with nothing in it.
I had an old magnum 350 with the micron filter for years.
They work fine, just a pain in the fill in the blank to maintain and so they just get left for too long.
I really don't like them that much.
I run only hobs on my fresh tank now.

do you go back for scans 1/2 way through to see progress or just at the end?
Hang in there!

Thanks! Not really sure yet. They take a blood draw ahead of each infusion to see what's going on there.

I had a hygger 2600 I think with my cube. Didn't have a splitter on the return but would be good to hit the surface with one and the other towards the bottom to move flow. I had a hygger crossflow too but gave it to Mike for his 32. They do make a smaller (I think 1600) hygger but I don't think it swivels; just straight flow.
Awesome brother. Im checking them out now. Im a hygger fan

my 2600 wires looked like they were getting exposed and when I went to order the 1600 inch saw that it was not directional so bought the crossflow. but then I took down the tank so I really never used it. thought of placing it in the sump to keep things from settling in there. The 2600 was really strong for the tank and it took me a while to get the right flow by bouncing it. But those random flows look pretty useful too.

I have a 2600 in my 32g but it sounds like one of these smaller ones like the 1600 is what you’re looking for.

I wish I could remember the gph of the one I have Kevin. The controller on the bottom picture is identical to mine. Im thinking the 1600 is what im looking for.

They make your tank look amazing Joel!
Ah kessil A160s. Used to run them. I'm having issues with my REEFLEDS to be honest with you. I can't get them to light the tank.. waste of money?

the 2600 and 1600 I think are the same controller.

yeah, the fan is just bigger and you can angle it.

I have canisters on all my freshwater tanks except my little 6 gallon betta tank it has a sponge. I have a marineland or fluval canister on the 40 right now but I also still have lots of HOBs in storage that I could use just trying to figure out which would be best.

Pros/cons from your experience?
I like a Sump. I stopped using the canister because I got a sump and wanted the canister for a freshwater tank.

Pros: no overflow to deal with, usually quiet, can get good flow from them, cryptic fuge

Cons: difficult to service the media - no visual reference when it needs cleaned/replaced, no refugium

Thank you! I am also considering the option of a sump but I would need to buy one of those HOB over flow type ones because drilling is not an option but I don't really know how those work yet. It will be a while before I do anything just thinking and researching right now.

That's crazy. Mine says 6000 lph which equates to 1585. But it looks like the one on the bottom. If mine is 1600, adding another 1600 is going to be interesting. I use random wave intensity and pulse. Maybe I could set the other one on a lowe constant pulse for the other to bounce off of
