What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
GHA is slowly making a comeback.. Its like a very very small carpet and I cant pick it out. What should I do?

It does seem ridiculous, but at least in my area I have found ways to make it a lot more reasonable. The closest LFS wants $100-200 minimum for boring/simple LPS like Duncans, Frogspawn, & Hammers per head and they want close to $250-750 for a head of torches. Its simply insane. The crazy part is if I drive 35-50 minutes away north to Fort Myers these is a shop that sells corals for $50-60 for Duncan's & Hammers and $80-150+ for Torches which is more reasonable but still its not great.

Now the real key money savior for me has been Facebook marketplace and their "fake" coral listings. I got a two headed cotton candy torch for $70 from a local reefer a while back. Also today I got a nice Branching Frogspawn, one Aussie Duncan, 15 small cerith snails, & a cleaner shrimp for $100 from another reefer. They actually sell so much corals that they order inverts online and sell it locally (lol). If I got it from my LFS it would likely cost $300 for the same items.

I honestly have no interest in buying corals from my LFS anymore and yesterday I went there and their TDS in their RODI water was 15 lol. (The guy was talking to me about how I use my own RODI system and was curious what their TDS was in the water as I said mine is always 0 and he checked and it was 15! lol Just crazy
I use FB Marketplace as well. Hobbyists definitely sell stuff for a lot less than a LFS or commercial farmer does.

"35 - 50 minutes north to Ft. Myers" means I'm betting you're in either Estero or Bonita.

If you drive to Fort Myers then I am familiar with the LFS you're going to there.

And, yes, you are 100% right about Marketplace.

I live in Naples near Livingston and Pine Ridge rd so not downtown but not North Naples either. I have been to Boardroom Aquatics who is also pretty reasonable but the store I was referring to for reasonable priced corals was Aquarium and Reef Center. Still it’s nice to get corals from a local reefer. If anyone is in this area though I would say definitely check for Aquarium and reef center.

The crazy expensive store is in Naples though lol close to where I live.

Ugh, I’m starving! Nice crust on the filets! Pictures when they are cooked and cut into bite size pieces.

Unsure I asked for money mostly... Started Keto as well. Tired of being this way. Time for a change ladies and gents.
Nothing wrong with bettering yourself, but we all think pretty high of you, young buck!

Why thank you. I won't change personality wise. Will always be me.

I am scuba certified although the fine for collecting hard corals is much more pricey then buying them 🤣
