some heat from a great gun but i just use a sharp long utility blade the ones that you can snap the tips off of

Ok, I just need to find out the price quote from my lfs that makes custom tanks. I hope it's under $70, which is very expensive for a 10 gallon but fine for a custom tank. Otherwise, I will try your method.

1/8” glass is actually 3/32” thick.

Just wait for petco sale.

Any untempered glass can be drilled. Has nothing to do with thickness.

Incorrect. DIY drilling methods can vibrate, plunge too deep at once or cut unevenly enough to crack glass if its too thin. Whether 1/8" is too thin, idk.
