I have never made it past the frag stage, which your FTS reminded me off bar some of the colonies. Anyways, I have been keeping saltwater for a little over a year and a half, and I am getting encrustation (I think I just made that word up lol) on some of my corals. The reason I am getting that is because Flat Worm Stop, or at least that is what I account it to. Do you do any of the KZ products, Mr V?

How far apart do you generally space out new frags when gluing then to the rockwork?
I am not really measure exactly. I usually imagine what's the shape those corals will grow if I put them in that particular spots. The rule is not too close (3~5" is a good distance), but you know, we have limited space, and too many acros...[emoji849]

Things doing real good but the tank look boring with just frags. [emoji849]
Just switch to Samsung and tapatalk on Android doesn't let me upload full size pictures like the one on iPhone.
Hopefully the pictures still look decent and still able to...entertain you.[emoji6]

Pictures were taken using Nikon D500 aith Tamron 90mm macro lens. 20k lighting.

1- how are you blocking all the light from fuge ?

2- where is your inlet and outlet for the fuge? Can you please post some pics? I have something similar but i just tore it apart.

The skimmer still acting crazy despite the water lever has lowered to the minimum possible.
But I notice today, on the side of the skimmer has a cap that cover a hole on the skimmer body (why did they drill hole on the skimmer body?!), I unplugged the cap and let more water out, it starts to come down.
Is it the way this skimmer work, you have to unplug the cap on the side?

The refugium is up and running. As you can see, there will be no light leak into the sump ---> no nuisance algae, coralline algae grow in the sump.

Two drain. The main drain (3/4") drain from the bottom of the refug, the emergency (1/2") on the side in case chaeto clogged the main drain.
It feed by the main tank drain water 1" with a valve to limited the flow.

Also add some fishes yesterday.[emoji4]

Mr.V are you still using marine pure block in the sump ? Do you not worry about aluminium from the block, do you ever did an ICP teste to measure the amount of Al in the tank?

The light was just a couple inches above the fuge so it wasn't spill out too much. However I remove it already since I found there's no benefit keeping that small fuge. The only thing I miss is the pods.
For inlet, It was fed by a manifold from drain tube. Outlets was a hole from the side and a hole from bottom.

Yes, I have 5 blocks in this tank right now. I did icp test once when I had the crash a couple month ago. Execept for phosphate was high, verything else seem normal.
I also had marinepure in my old system for 5 year without any problem.

Both are Vivid confetti. One was in my frag tank, the other one in this display. Both survive the crash and start coloring up

My research seemed to show the issue with Aluminum from MarinePure was mostly a concern for Leather Corals.

I don't no the overdose value for corals but I never used it because I was afraid that can become harmless for the corals over the time. but 5 years using it like V does without issues makes me think about it!
