H80 on the Refugium lol?
Even better, it's Kessil H380.
I thought it was crazy too. But with this light, the chaeto grow crazy and take up all the excess nutrients. I have extremely high bioload with 15~20 fishes in this 100 gallons system with 2 tangs, cooper band, anthias, chromis, wrasses,...

I see that’s cool! I run a few of the H80’s (on the uv/pink spectrum) on my clients Refugiums growing red dragons breath and cheato. In 20 years I’ve never seen it grow so thick/compact even the color of is totally different. If Kessil did one thing right it’s this lol. The tank pictures 180 gallons room divider I installed there’s a large powder blue, yellow, kole, purple, 2 Bella gobies, flame hawk, lawnmower blenny, clownfish pair, several wrasses, and 10 really big the biggest springeri damsels I’ve ever seen :) there’s more fish that just what I can remember. There’s really not that much in terms biological filtration the sand
bed 1.5” at best and 85-90lbs Haitian shelf live rock isn’t porous at all. Daily I have him feeding 4 cubes and whole full sheet of seaweed daily and no3 never exceeds10 the macro grows insanely in this system we started recycling it as expensive tang food lol.

I’ve always believed in heavy bio loads in sps tanks my 50 gallon rimless had 25 fish at it’s peak (3 Are tangs they’re all still alive). I feed 4-5 cubes daily or 2x2” reef frenzy, And dose 3x the amount of polyp Labs booster every morning turning the skimmer off for a few hours, and seaweed Half a sheet 3x week. I run a skimmer rate 6-8x my volume it’s kinda be a struggle, I’m also running 4x maxspect biosphere’s. Discontinued utilizing my Refugium put more Lr for a
Cryptic zone I no longer wanted to trim/rinse it and mess with it (had a prime HD/ later hydra 52 over It). I also don’t run mechanical filteration. Last I checked no3 was no higher than 10-15ppm still not bad considering I do 10 gallon w/c twice a month.

It was intended at Mr. V, but you can answer too if you like [emoji13]
I don't set specific targets. I try to keep no3 above 10ppm and po4 at minimum possible with heavy feeding. (It's different than minimum po4 and no3 with a little feeding).

[emoji1787] when you say keep it at a minimum - what does that typically come out at? Do you run GFO to keep your Po4 down?

I run pellet on a apex feeder, which doesn’t help my Po4, so I have to compliment my cheato fuge with biophos (a GFO brand).

Last time I test it was 0.18ppm which I think it's a good number.
I currently don't have gfo. Just the chaeto and skimmer

Wow doesn’t that slow your growth down?

If you read my last couple posts, I had po4 jump over 0.61ppm (out of test range of Hana Phosphorus checker) and nitrate over 100ppm (also out of test range).
That's when I didn't have any growth. But colors was intense!
Now with 0.16ppm I feel that they kinda pale in color.

Lol pretty much along the same lines min/max guidelines Po4 .15-.25 and No3 10-25ppm. Personally the last time I tested Jan 2019 the Po4 .19-.22 (hanna 774) and no3 15-20ppm (salifert) had been stable for easily 9 months. I refuse to chase a number (in general) especially something like inorganic phosphate may or may not be in alignment w/ the organic phosphate level which is actually what’s utilized. Trying to “fix it” has associated risk doing more harm than good most of the time honesty the sps look better anyways. In my opinion it’s a physiological impulse from “low nutrient” wave to do extreme measures even though your corals look fine and are happier, but we do it any ways. At any rate I’ve always pretty much run high nutrients when I first got in this hobby po4 wasn’t a big thing or even a thing at all you just watch your corals used them as determining factor to you maintenance/feeding routine, and etc. My Walt Disney speaks it’s one coral there’s a night and day difference in color (a positive way with higher levels). Take a look at my thread if you need proof that it doesn’t slow growth enough to even worry I grew 2” frag into 9x7x4” tall colony and 2.5” stag frag 12”x5” multi branch antler in 14-15 months. I think there’s limitations though if you’re running high energy set up your uptake will be higher vs. a low energy system (less intense light/low flow). Sorry for the novel I just don’t want to get trolled lol!

At any rate that’s if I tested it at all period whether on my clientele’s tanks or at home. I tested the no3 just a few week ago first time since January it’s down to 10-15 ppm.

I think the bounce like high nutrient. Back to last month when I had nutrient issue, the bubbles was way bigger than now. Now I have small bubbles, but I notice more new small bubbles growing. [emoji848]

They say bounce don’t eat. But they all have a mouth?? Others say they feed theirs reef roids???? ....and they grow like mad. Well?

Someone must know!!??

I feed the crap out of my tank (I know not supposed to with mixed reef) but what the heck makes me feel like a parent. Lol.

4 months after my son poured the chemicals into this system, today I notice the acro truly making a come back. The colonies that were black now coloring back and polyps are out again.
Pictures were taken under "All Blue" and "20k" with Nikon D500, Tamron 90mm micro lens and sigma 18-50mm lens. Handheld, porthole and orange filter.

Got this mili from Ray @TGC. after a couple tank crash last year, I kinda mess up with names.

this one survive with just a couple polyps left. I will leave it here so we can document the come back. (or not. lol)

I used to live in a mobile home while saving up for my house. They have floors that are particle board. I'd lift your carpet and replace it the flooring with plywood. I found out I had a pinhole leak underneath when the corner of my bed start sinking into the floor.
