Some of the new additions, some of of them are signature acros, but mostly no name. But they are all cool and unique corals.

No named. This one has very nice pink tips. Loved at first sight! [emoji7][emoji7][emoji7]

CK Harvey Wall Banger, I know I know, I already sent words to CK, such a funny name! [emoji28] but super-duper-hyper cool mili. I don’t like mili much, but look at the red! I haven’t never seen a mili that red!

And placed next to it is my beloved blue mili.

Corals look amazing! Why did you get rid of the calcrx?

Many reasons, first I don’t always have to look for the effluent all the time and worry that it clogged. Second, I constantly have low pH so I think dosing will help with it. And mostly because I love ESV.[emoji4]

That is some nice growth to beautiful corals. May I ask how you mount the corals to the LR?

Thanks. I glue them to a small piece if rock and glue that piece to my main structure.

I have radions ram up from 1pm to 3pm. Max peak at 3pm to 9pm then ram down to 2am.

Right now this tank running on the very basic method: 15 gallons water change every 2 weeks, dosing ESV 2 parts, No calcium reactor, NO additives at the moment. I want to see how the coloration and growth without any additives.
So far as you can see, the growth is very good. Color also pretty good. Acros are not fully color up, but considering this is a new system and I recently mess with the sand bed, I am happy.

Good catch, My wife got me a new camera last Christmas, the Nikon D500. Let my old Nikon d3200 retire!
These corals pictures were taken with 18-55mm lens.

Radion is on AB+ program at 65%. Vortechs are at 90% antisync reefcrest mode.

Fishes right now: purple tang, 2 anthias, maroon clown, cleaner wrasse, purple firefish.

Cal: 450ppm test once a month.
Mg: 1400 ppm test one per couple months. (Haven’t test on this tank yet)

Don't fall into chasing nitrate. You can see on his 45 gallon he showed a pic of his nitrate and it looked zero or real close to it.

I agree about "chasing numbers", but if your SPS are pale and nitrate is undetectable with a good kit, you need to increase feeding.

I have a question though: what's the difference between a heavily-fed healthy tank and a "dirty" tank with a bunch of brown corals? Right now my nutrients are very low (tank is coral only with no fish), but my corals aren't really light. I'm afraid to feed too much and end up with a dirty tank with a bunch of brown acros. @Mr V I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, since my tank seems to be like your old 45 was (too clean).

Very interesting, excuse the pic V on your journal.
I don't do a "method", I don't do water changes and dose and top up manually, I might not have the most colourful corals on the planet but they're fine!
You could call it a bit grubby! ;)

The different is the filtration. Heavy feeding have to go a long with effective (not agressive) filtration system.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not ignoring nutrient numbers. I am just against using the method of test to acknowledge these numbers. In my system, even when nutrients are high, no3/po4 still showed 0 or close to 0 results. Following these test results will do more harm than good.

Best indicators for your nutrients level are the appearance of algae and corals health (pe, coloration).
In your case, when you increase feeding, you need to make sure your filtration (export) can catch up with extra import. (It’s the reason why I haven’t fed this tank yet)
