For 2 yrs I did nothing but basic maintenance on this system. The coral that was already in there survived and grew slowly along with the yellow tang and bengali cardinal. But in the past months I've made it my task to bring some life back to the system.
For the hardware side I switched out the two basic $100 led boxes out with two xr30pros, swapped the jebao wavemakers with two mp40s, setup an auto dosing system with 2 part, and finally added a kessil H80 refugium light.
The inhabitants now are:
• yellow tang
• bangaii cardinal
• sailfin tang
• foxface
• royal gramma
• yellow coris wrasse
• lyretail anthias
• diamond goby
• midnight clown and black ice clown pair
• cleaner shrimp
• green bta
I've also got more coral than I've ever had before.
• red cap
• orange plate
• toxic hammer
• purple hammer
• Kenya tree
• devils finger leather
• jedi mind trick
• galaxia
• gold torch
• green favia brain
• green hairy mushrooms
• purple mushrooms
• rosta zoas
• bam bam zoas
• miscellaneous zoas
• bonsai acro
• WWC Honeycomb Leptastrea
• WWC Starburst Cap
• WWC Peppermint Cyphastrea
• WWC Mule Favia
• WWC Scripps Acro
• Hollywood Stunner
• Golden Eye Chalice
• WWC Megatron Micro
• WWC Teal Ring Aussie
• Captain America Micro
• Spongodes Monti
• Gatorade Zoa
• Green Turbinaria
• Neon Cabbage Leather
• Neon Blasto
• Flame Tip Clove Polyps
• Hydnophora
• Miami Hurricane Echinata
• WWC Jujube Favia
• Orange Ricordea
• Red People Eater Zoa
• Purple Monti Digitata
• Tyree Yellow Jacket Acro
• Strawberry Shortcake Acro
• WWC Bob Monster Acro
• Neon Green Tip Torch
• Orange Hammer
• WWC Tangerine Psammocora
• WWC King Kong Favia
• WWC Amazing Rainbow Platygyra
• WWC Kiwi Frost Favia
There are a couple things I'm having issues with right now. One being the bonsai acro, looks like it was dying on the guy I got it from and continued the die off on me but seems to have some new growth now. Not sure if I should just let it be or cut it up into frags. Then theres the foxface, I hadn't noticed when buying it that it has holes in its face. From what I can find I'm thinking it might be due to stress and malnutrition. It wasn't eating and wouldnt come out at all the first few days I had it. Bot now I've got it eating like a pig and it's always out unless spooked but comes right back out. Any thoughts on either of these issues?
I know everyone like pictures so here ya go
