Time to update this thread a little after the period of less love over the last weeks.
First things first... the bad news. I lost some acros due to STN during the holidays.
Where STN started, it also finished the coral. Took them out a couple of days ago.

And then some more random pictures from the last weeks.

This one had a nice dark colour which was lost over the past weeks. It struggles still a little at the base, but I hope it makes a recovery soon.

Still one of my favourites. It likes the extra T5.

This one lost also his deeper color but is on the way back now.

Slowly growing.
44105845860_977828a520_k.jpg

It does not always have to coral and fish... althought there is a fish in the picture as well.

The blue fiji damsel.
So I scratched the glass about 2 weeks after delivery :rolleyes::rolleyes:
It does not bother me too much. But algae seem to like those places to bloom.
45009400775_d7a3eb7026_k.jpg

Also recovering around the tips.
I hope growth is coming back soon.

This guy went to a nice bigger 300G tank as he became to dominant to the other tangs and eat like a pig.
I assume my filter socks will need to be changed now only every 3 weeks with the sailfin gone. :p:p:p

Grow tips coming back.
As well as the cyano on the right side.
I vacuumed all during the water change of day before yesterday.

Another favourite.
45197782144_bb1ef3cf9d_k.jpg

While I was at it. One of the few acceptable fish pictures.
45198010144_4246367b29_k.jpg

Grow tips always result in a smile and picture.

Another one of the favourites.

There are good and bad days in reefing. Most of he bad are due to lack of time and attention. I hope this will turn soon.
The GHL Lightbars did not have the output I was expecting. They are fully adjustable lights with 7 colour LEDs, but the more you adjust, the less output you have.
With T5 you have the same, at 100% all the time.

What does the quality seem like on the IAquatics bars, I am considering them for a custom upgrade?

They are what you pay for.
They come with all necessary items for mounting in a canopy or bracket and the reflectors seems to be pretty as well.
The power supply has 2 plugs (for my 4 bulb option) so you can connect them to a separate timer to have them on/off in pairs.
The only minus point are the cable for each light that is too short for my opinion.

Looking great man!!! Do you use gels for taking pictures of your tank?

Hi Tacos.
No gels. I shoot in RAW and adjust later in Lightroom.
I also try to change the LED setting to more whitish when taking the picture.

Tonight I quickly set up the 3 dosing bottles with the Coral Essential trace elements.
950ml rodi + 50ml CE Trace for each A, B and C.
Started the dosing with 3ml per day and we'll see how it goes.
I might up the dose later, but this will get me a long way.
I count on at least 5-6 months till replacement needs to be bought.

I also added 6 drops of the Gro, Vibrance and Chroma.
Curious what this will give in a couple of weeks.

Take lots of before photo's (of all corals) to compare later.
Can't wait to see results.

You should see something (significant) in 2-3 weeks.

All beautiful pictures.

Sorry about the Glass Scratch. It will alway happen, and first one is the worst.
I have two on a brand new Tank (noticed it on delivery). Really upset me. But got a Big discount for that.

And that photo.....That is a Cowrie.
I have one in Sump since it started eating all my SPS corals in DT.
Great for SUmp...It polished any Algae Clean. Been there for a year+
I actually caught it on Photo and Video.

31035977437_f843b05a55_z.jpg

It shaved my SPS Clean on one side (in front of my eyes)....I still have nightmares.

Mine was a Tiger Cowrie. You must be safe since you have had it for a while.
But if it's a Tiger...Be Careful.

I would be very careful.

Says while small they MIGHT be Safe. As they get larger they eat Soft Corals.
I read an Article in CORAL MAGAZINE (not sure what issue). Tiger Cowrie (Food)=Corals.

And this happened to me after I removed him from DT and was in Sump for a while.

I took him out to Algae Clean a Frag Tank with Rocks and some mushrooms.
I forgot about him, and then one Day I wanted to prune my Beautiful Golden Aussie Torch.

I probably left for 2 minutes to get tools.

45068995015_6f562d9271_z.jpg

I always have a camera handy.....and got this photo.

The Tiger Cowrie got to the Torch really fast, and ripped the flesh from it.
I had to pull him off, while he was eating away at the Torch.
He killed it.

Maybe I got a bad nasty Cowrie.
Just warning you, since it can happen. Did happen to me TWICE.

And he was in my tank probably 6+ months before he attacked my SPS the first time.

Yes yes, I know they can be nasty and are a possible thread to corals.
I never bought them and they came in as a hitchhiker in the previous tank.

I have more problems with crabs. Some bother corals and one of these days, I will have to set up a trap again.
