Pygoplites is magnificent. Is it the same one from the start of this thread?
No, the first one didn't make it through the second round of QT/fallow period unfortunately... never really ate well. Only ate fresh clams and nipped red flake, but never much food at a time. This one eats anything and everything, NLS pellets, green and red algae, and all kinds of frozen. Got it late-summer/early fall last year, I think?

I decided to do a little “then” and “now” comparison of my tiny baby meleagris now that she is finally turning male:

The torch is quite a bit slimmer, we took a good 8-10 heads in a trade for some non-reef related items... but I’m sure it will fill back out in no time, and it was getting pretty close to the SPS so it needed to be done!

Crazy nice. All you fish get along?

Right now yes, I’ve had some trouble getting more than two fairy wrasses to play nice though... I really want a lineatus but it’s not been in the cards lol First was too docile, and second was too aggressive... go figure.

The flame wrasse is very timid and gets the most flack, and there’s an occasional nip here or there amongst the group, but for the most it’s very peaceful :)

Transformation watch: almost complete! Besides the obvious color changes, he looks a good bit larger as well.

I also managed to catch Moyers in the act of terrorizing a big snail. He was trying really hard to eat the foot.

And the “new guy” in the box. He was actually supposed to be a new addition to the frag tank, but hubby decided to sell it before I had a chance to finish his QT lol So, now I’m going to see how he works out with the rest of the gang.

Meleagris and Moyers both paid him a bit of attention, but not anything too concerning so far.

So, I’m relaxing on the couch today and kind of sit-up, planning to get up and go do something.... I just happen to glance at the tank before I stand up, and see every single fish is swimming across the front glass begging for food.

I’m used to them doing this when I’m standing close to the tank, but I was legitimately surprised that they had noticed me simply sit-up on the couch and decided it was a good time to ask for food [emoji23]

Of course, I fed them. Guess they have me well trained.

Oh, and the wrasse is out of the box and doing just fine ;)
