250 vs 280 Gallon Aquarium

I may change from 180 to one of these, which one is better?
250 Gallon, I am guessing it is deep.
280 Gallon, which is 73 by 30 by 30.

Shallow tanks are easier to keep well lit with our lights.. otherwise not much difference. I can’t imagine there’s significant difference between the two though...

Ok so I just found that Deep Measurements are 60" by 36" by 27"

Id rather the 280 for both volume and less depth

i have a 220 which is 72long x 30 tallx 24 wide. 30 inches deep is a huge freaking pain. always go more shallow if you have a choice.

Sounds like a winner, the shallower one. Easier to get light par down low, easier to reach to bottom if coral falls and longer run for swimming. Let us know

Yep. I'm 5'3. My tank is on a 36 inch stand. Top of the tank is 3 inches over my head. I need a ladder to work in the tank. My arm is maybe like 20 inches? Its beyond frustrating deal with base rock, corals that have fallen, corals that like bottom placement etc. And lighting down to the bottom level appropriately.

All my tanks are deep and ladder never gets put away. Those claws are a savior !!

I've never had a 30" tall tank but I think I would like it. 30" tall just makes the tank look so bigger a 280 looks much bigger then 100 gallons more then a 180.

yea i do as well i have a ladder i use to work in my tank because my tank is 27" deep im 5'6 lol

The 30” height will be a pain unless you have a freakish reach. I have a 27” height on my tank and it is hard to handle. Now depth .... the other dimension is great. It allows for much more scope in aquas caping. A 48” depth would be great for a peninsula tank.
