Sorry about the photographic diarrhea!
Bin along time since i posted and wanted to give a quick up date!
Have gone through some ups and downs ..but pretty happy with where tank is now!
Worst experience...red flat worms
Best ...60 gallon mixing station and auto water change. Do a 6 gallon a day water change on 700 gallon system. Waste water goes to 2 33 gallon bio cubes..quarantine tanks. So they get 10% water change per day! Every 11 minutes DOS dose 151 ml water change))!!!Trident has to be a highlight as well...i love it! 1 of 6 people in Canada to get on day 1!

Second best upgrade you can do for yourself and your tank.
Auto water change!
You will never regret this upgrade!
We have a hang up about the time and expense of water changes
Seriously??? Even at six gallons a day ...like on my system... $50 per month.
Ok sounds like a huge expense.... but will save your tank!
We have $100s if not $1000 of dollars of fish and corals at risk here!
For most tanks..if you do these kinds of water changes...you can likely skip Protein skimmer...Calcium reactor and Trace mineral additions!

What else have i learnt?
If running a refugium....get the proper light!
Add 1 wrasse for every 50 gallons!
Automate what ever you can!
Get a Trident!
Buy Fish and corals from local tanks...quarantine... but dont medicate unless absolutely necessary!

You obviously have a good handle on salt water reefing! The corals look stunning. Great growth. Good colorful selection of fish too. How’s spring in Alberta? Here in Ohio hardly any farmers are going to get to plant. Wet, wet, wet!

Bin out of this hobbie for 10 years and feel I've bin left behind and in the dark!
So much has changed...want to do this one right!
I'm a farm boy!...there will be no fancy words...no fancy diagrams...no fancy engineering!
One thing I am good at is commen sense!
I believe a picture is worth 10000 words ...so lots f those will follow!
Oh ya!....going to convert my pool after you guys help me setup and successfully run a 225!
I'm thinking the pool will be fish only!
So for now...in case I misled any of you this is a 1000 litre reef tank in my office with 200 sq ft fish room below in basement.
This is my tank stand and have a second for my sump stand!
Liked these for the storage!

When you do the pool reef, you can have pool parties. And be the bartender
