Ok good news! Sorry for delay I was out slanging houses all day. She opened up and her core is full again! Mouth closed! She's still in her basket but it looks like she's trying to crawl out. I put it a little lower in the water. Still no smell. Not. Giving. Up!!
Sounds promising..glad to hear it!

Attached? To the strainer? No her foot is loose. But she I would've bet everything I had yesterday she was gone. Shedding everywhere and flat as a pancake. The no smell is only thing that kept her in. Something is making the ammonia go up though so I'm doing yet another water change to try and keep everything good for her. I had a rock in but took it out when she went limp. I'll wait a few days and introduce it again. My girl is a fighter!!

I'm guessing she expelled all her waste amd old water and took in fresh and new as a attempt to recover. That's a great sign!

Oh I hope that's what she did! I'm so grateful to all who have helped. Is there a chance she will never latch if she makes it? I've never seen anything that looks like the "foot" I saw on the other that were attached in the shop. Hers is just a tube and flat bottomed. Can they make it if they don't latch to anything? Basically she will just roll around everywhere if not :/

I've never heard of it personally but i do believe she needs to have a stomach and that's pretty much the tube going to the foot. I personally highly doubt she won't attach at all. It's just going to take some time for her to feel unthreatened and comfortable. Give her time and she should pull through.

There's always going to be something new to learn. It varies tank to tank. Some might have success some might not using the same methods. One thing I've learned this last year when i first got into salt water is that every fish and coral are different and have their own personality and preferences. I have only been in this hobby for approximately a year maybe a year and a half now and i started out at the bottom and learned and studied my coral and fish. There is a lot to learn about this hobby and no one will ever know everything about it. But we can try and learn as much as we can in our lifetime. It seems like a lot at first and its like u tell yourself you cant do it, its too much but perservearance dedication and self discipline is the key. Anyome can do it. I have faith in humans and their learning capabilities. I know u can learn as much as possible and im far from being to where i know everything. Keep your head up, ask for advice but most importantly, study your livestock. They will tell you whats going on and how they feel. We just have to learn the language we are speaking.

Love this thread and the support. I was surprised today with a hammer coral to try and lift my spirits when I thought she was gone. We adopted a blenny, blenny Rodgers , and I'm absolutely in love. He's the coolest fish I've ever seen. I want all blennies now - though I know not a possibility. Don't for awhile to focus on the happiness of everyone and focus on my girl. I'll need to call back the store and pay ten again if she pulls through. They refunded me as they told me she was dead. I'll make it right if she isn't. They were very nice and informative when I came back so my faith is restored. They seemed upset I was told to throw her away and apologetic. I want to believe anyone in this profession has the same passion as those here. So very blessed to stumble on this site. Thanks all for helping out a stranger. I hope to meet you all one day ( when I have a tank cool enough to share) ☺️

Omg hahaha thank you!! Yea I'm a little ridiculous. A lot of people don't get my humor and think I'm a jerk. I'm not. Well maybe. Depends if I ate or not. Come over and be my friend! I need fish friends dangit! My other ones are useless. They have dogs. ( I do too but this isn't about me)

* again dry humor. I add this disclaimer regularly so people know I'm kidding.

eaj- that one is gorgeous!! Mine looks like a rock and he head butts the hermit crabs off his rock. He's like the scarface of my tank. He's always like, " wassssaaaaap". And I say, "WAAAZAAAAAAP!!!" Back and he just looks at me like I'm stupid. I still love him.
