Alright...

You people convinced me to buy some lace rock from my LFS today!

Planks are 3" wide for size reference.

Will post a tutorial when I start the project. :)
Just need some pond foam!

Beautiful tank. This is great. I'm starting to plan an upgrade, and I really like this idea.

What kind of foam did you use?

Thanks, do it!

As far as foam, I used two different brands. Both are black, goey, and supposedly UV resistant..

Beckett Waterfall Foam Sealant
Touch 'N Foam: Landscape

Both performed about the same. I'm going to buy whatever is cheapest. Lol

**Update - looks like great stuff has since come out with a pond foam and it's only $7 on eBay (none local). Gonna buy a can. Should show up about Wednesday!

Here's some fun pics from this week

Mr crab

Watched a nassarius snail come out off the sand, this guy run over, snatch it, and run back to its shell home. lol
5 min later saw the snail cruising away.

So beautiful and unique! I may have to try this lol! So your fuge is behind the wall...So I assume your water flows over the top back behind your wall? Where is your discharge at? Everything is hidden so well!

That was the plan!

The original plans were quite a bit different than what I have currently.

Original plans:
Aquatic life mini internal skimmer (fuge intake - fuge outflow)
Mini Chinese canister filter (fuge intake - display outflow)
Tetra 30-60 Hob filter (fuge intake - display outflow)
300w heater
Stock plastic hood
Current USA orbit led

The hob filter sucked in a ton of water through the overflow cut out in the wall and flowed out over the top of the wall into the display

Overflow teeth

Current setup:
Seaclone 100 skimmer (fuge intake - display outflow)
Mini Chinese canister filter (fuge intake - fuge outflow)
100w heater
Mp10
Screen top
Evergrow IT2060

My current setup utilizes the skimmer to draw water back and return it in the upper right of the display while the empty canister filter provides circulation for the fuge.
The fuge is a concept I never actually utilized. Lol I still need to make/buy a led strip light for it..

Tubing from left to right:
Canister output, skimmer intake, canister intake, skimmer outflow

Skimmer outflow just up and left of the fish

Overflow - GSP covering the exposed eggcrate. The wall has deteriorated in that one spot for whatever reason..
I blame the high intensity light - no proof though.
