I just got my 29 gallon reef up and going. I have a 24" HQI 250W SunPod and a Aquaclear 50 powerhead for water movement. Running a Eheim canister rated to 35 gallons for filtration. Have a few zoas, mushrooms, xenias with a mandiren goby, percula clown, Haitian reef anemone, chocolate tang, arrow crab, serpent star and regal tang. any pointers you guys could offer?

Your need to take out the regal and chocolate tangs. Your tank is too small. The mandarin will also be a challenge but is possible. Does it eat prepared foods or only pods? Also the star fish will likely starve to death as well. Sorry to sound harsh or negative but you should save them while you can. But the rest of your system looks good.
