I haven’t been on Reef2Reef in a while and decided to come back to it. I’ve learned a lot since I left and am excited to learn more. So here is all that had happened:

So first and foremost, I switched to a new tank. I got rid of the old tank and now have a 30 gallon display with a 10 gallon sump but it’s only got 5 gallons of water in it so that makes the total volume 35 gallons.

Sadly Lenny the Tailspot Blenny is no longer with us… he was killed by some Emerald crabs after they started to run low on food. I figured the crabs had enough bubble algae but apparently I was wrong. I then removed those stupid crabs because they had overstayed their welcome.

My current stocking list is

My Domino Damsel (who is currently in the hospital tank, which I will elaborate on later.)

A Wyoming white clownfish
A mocha storm clownfish
A small scopas tang.
A small Naso Tang

I think I should elaborate on the tangs, and address the elephant in the room.
They are currently quite small and reside happily in my little tank with zero aggression. I am well aware they will out grow this tank. As such in August after I move I will build a 210 gallon tank. I plan on having a 55 or 75 around April in case they outgrow the current tank before I move.

Now on the subject of the Damsel. My damsel was being a damsel and did not take kindly to the tangs arriving in his tank so I removed him from the display and he is now in the quarantine tank. I’ve learned if you remove the damsel for a month or two he’ll come back with no memory of the previous tank and squarely at the bottom of the pecking order.

Obviously none of this is perfect and it is a bit strange I must admit, it is going decently well. I’m looking forward to being part of this community again and learning from the skilled veterans here.

Also on a side note I’ve taken a liking to rainbow bubble tip anemones. They are lots of fun and look great! It started with one and it’s now split into 8 anemones!
