I have had fresh water for over 40 years decided to dip my toe into salt, specifically a little reef tank. First layout of the dry rock. Not sure I am happy with the height of the rock.

Looks great so far I think, and welcome to R2R as well!
 
Welcome to reef2reef. I love my biocube. Rockscape is ok, you can change it later.. in next few months before the corals grow out, if you dont like the current scape. I think you can add more depth and height. Have an island of two wont be bad either, since some of the easy to grow corals are also invasive, and safer when isolated.
 
Those plain round lumps of rock are never easy. Try your lfs for a couple weird looking pieces like a piece of tonga or something and look at many thousands of pictures
