I am looking to change my current light setup and I wanted to get some feedback from anybody who currently has a 3 foot tank.

Tank Dimensions are:
36" long x 18" front-back x 12" tall

I was thinking of going with 1x150w MH in the middle with 2x39w T5 Actinic lights.

I run a (4) bulb and a (6) bulb Tek T5's over two of my 3' tanks (wife's mixed and frag tank). This is plenty of light for anythign in them. I ahve SPS in the frag tank. They don't look much like the mothers (under MH), but are pleasing to the eye. They seem to turn very pastel under the T5's. Most other things pop pretty nicely, too. Rics, acans, chalices (shaded under overhangs so far), and some of my zoas have picked up nice color. My electric blue cepsit has very little color (I think it takes MH to get the bright scleratic action;)), as does the Turbinara peltata in my wife's tank. Doesn't seem to flatter everything, but hits on most.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
