3D printer recommendation

Is there a reason nobsy in the hobby uses printers like these????

I’m just wondering if they are super finicky or the resin is toxic in a saltwater tank. Because the main reason I haven’t gotten a 3D printer are the lines I. The layers. It just doesn’t look good to me.

I definitely like my resin printer because of the no layer lines...but it's a headache to use sometimes lol

Someone in my town is selling an almost new ready to print Aquila S2 for $130 (no filament included). I'm really struggling with this decision because I haven't 3d printed before but I dream of being a maker with a CNC router, laser engraver, and 3d printers (I already have plenty of woodworking tools). I also have some not so recent experience using graphic design programs including Blender for 3d.

Would this be something I could pick up and get going fairly quickly or will it just end up being another hobby that collects dust due to the break-in/training period?

It really depends how dedicated you are to it. 3D printers break (usually just a clogged nozzle) and they need to be fixed.
Before I started printing for others, when my printer broke it would sometimes sit around till I got around to it...

That being said, its a good intro to other crafting type stuff... for instance, I used my 3D printer to make a cnc-router!

I sort of feel with anything you get in a lull of not wanting to print for awhile and then BOOM, you're printing 24/7 for weeks.

Does anyone use the sonic pad for their ender printers? My ender 3 s1 pro should be here next week and wondering if I should get the sonic pad for it. Will be using mostly petg filament. Not looking for crazy print speeds. I'm just printing stuff for my tanks. I do like the advanced bed leveling feature and also has the PID calabration adjustments built in. As well as being able to send files to print from my computer rather than loading it onto an SD card.

Ordered the sonic pad. But my printer still hasn't shipped yet. The anticipation is killing me. Have a list of stl files that I want to print that'll take about a month to print.

Just got my BL touch working on my Extended Ender. Printer was useless without it. Waiting out dealing with GD drivers for custom Marlin paid off... It now seems like a non-issue with Marlin 2.1.x (2.1.2).
