Hello everyone,

I’ve been on a budget for quiet some time and have been putting thought into getting some real lights for my 36”. I currently have a aqua knight from my Fluval as well as a LED strip and my corals are barley hanging on with no growth.

Ive been considering 2 AI prime 16HDs or 2 XR15 G5 Pros that I can move to a bigger set up in the future. Is there any reason to pick one over the other?

thanks in advance

What’s the comparison obviously the xr15s are better they are 200$ more each. They have a much better spectrum, par, and quality.

I run a Reefbreeders 32” Photon V2+ over my 36x24x22 tank. Amazing fixture for the price.

Do the G5 Pros/Blues and you can you use them for future builds/upgrades. Buy once, cry once.
I agree. I’ve been stingy but my corals are paying for it. Would aome xr15 g4 pros used be worth it?

I agree. I run A360WE's over my tanks and they're phenomenal at a fraction of the cost
I think visually I don’t like how the Kessils look, that’s really not a reason not to look more into them

Understandable. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea. You can’t go wrong with the G5’s - I’d upgrade my whole setup with them if I could justify the cost; but, I’m going to run my Kessil’s to ground, first

as stated earlier, get the best lights you can/want and purchase more if you decide to upgrade later.
