The 5g aqua gadget reservoir came in from marine depot. Looks great. Probably will place it beside the stand.
Still waiting for coralline algae to appear.

When I used an external sump on this tank in the past I used CPR Aquatic CS100 Siphon Overflow. Fit nicely in the center section.

I heard the siphon overflow was not reliable how did you find it

I didn't have any issues at all. I think the key is to make sure you have a return pump that can flow the correct amount of water. Also I did clean the connection for the aqua lifter on a regular basis to make sure I had no clogging.

I think the reservoir will do fine on the side of the stand. I put a hang on tubing bracket at the back to run my line to the peristaltic pump.

I want my top off water to come in through the float switch bracket. I also wanted the end to be fairly close to the water to minimize splashing from the dripping water. (Kind of risky). If it turns out to be an issue I'll run the top off water on a separate bracket.
Have to do some testing.
Some assembly pics here

Mounted the pump at the front for ease of maintenance. Ran the lines. Ato up and running. Ran a separate power box for the system also.
Now I need to clean up the wires. Think I'll also add 1 more electrical box for misc stuff. May end up adding a controller and possibly a dosing system depending on what coral route I decide to take.

Update, this tank is still running but recovering from a disaster.

In short, I received a frantic call from my wife that my fish jumped out. She put the fish back in hoping it would survive. No idea how long he was on the floor.
The fish did not survive.
She kept me updated over the weeks on how bad the tank started looking.
Long story short I came in home in January to a heartbreaking mess.
I debated on tearing the tank down and starting over but decided to just get through it.

I lost everything except one variety of coral and aiptasia.

I had massive hair algae outbreak, cyano and possibly dinos (I did not confirm).

I began an aggressive water change regiment.
Replaced the skimmer and lighting.
Removed algea reactor.
Added NPS reactor.
Also added a new controller setup to reduce family work load.
Began regular dosing of Microbacter 7 and Microbacter purple M
Once things were on a good path to recovery I purchased a new clean up crew.
