4 stripe damsel

I had 4 stripe with year old clowns, they did fine for about 6/8 months. Then all the sudden snapped, going after my male clown out of nowhere. I would worry about the aggressive nature, esp toward that royal gramma as it got older. IMO there are cooler things you could get that have the same look and feel without the aggression or risk. Just my opinion though! He did do fine for a while, and a character in my tank, contemplated getting another smaller one and just trading in as they got crazy.
Damsel are picky fish but they are awesome fish.
They will get to know you as their owner over time and their personalty is great.
For the moment you can be fine but they will go after any fish that kinda looks like a damsel.
The four clowns i would worry about the most for now.
I had a yellow tail damsel in each tank that I've set up for the last 35 years in salt water.
I never had any problems but you got to do your home works as always.
It was my first fish ever and I will always have one as first fish in every tank that I'll set up, will introduce other fish around my yellow tail, in that case I won't have any trouble.
For that reason I don't have a clown fish in my tank, never had and never will.
Another less aggressive damsel is the Marble blue damsel, you can even have two or three if your tank is big enough and each has their own area during the evening hours before the lights go off.

I love how my fish come eat right from my fingers. I have them trained to tell me when they are hungry. They congregate at the top right corner of the tank :)
Your clowns will pair up some how and if they do they won't play nice with any of the others when they come close.
Of course it depends on the size of tank and if the clowns are purchased the same time and introduced the same time in the tank.
Yet most stories are when you have a pair not one other clown will be a happy clown or other fish.
I have a 60G cube with two Gold Nuggets Clowns in there and it's just in my frag room but have only one Borbonia with them as any other fish will be history within 24 hrs.
The Nuggets are a breeding pair but I never wanted the fry from them but if the female lay the eggs the 60g is way to small for the male and borbonia to hide.
If I notice I'll take the eggs off from where ever they are and feed it my fish in the QT or other frag tanks.
I got my clowns as a clutch were introduced together it's been 2 months but they don't seem a problem they swim in a little school (: but now I have my coral beauty chasing my royal gramma in to its cave... Every time he tries to get out angel just scares him back in..
