Good news finally! I just tested the rock that are now in a glass aquarium. In 24 hours, PO4 reads 0.002. Basically undetectable as opposed to previous 0.09 in a 24-hour period! I might give it another couple of days to make sure, though it looks like it's good to go!

On another note, I brought the stand upstairs from the garage. Laid down a rubberized jigsaw mat inside the stand to cut down on vibrations and add another protective layer for minor drops and spills. Working on plumbing today and tomorrow. Hope to get the tank wet for a water check sometime tomorrow!

Come on! Let's see some plumbing!!! :D:D:D

LOL! Here is 99% of the work done. All that's left now is the return pipe. Need a part from the store when they open and then I can tinker with the overflows to get them dialed in.

Thanks Doug for all your help yesterday!! The rookie that I am, this would have taken me days and lots of PVC pieces wasted.

Hey man, thanks for the cold ones, great food and awesome time! I REALLY enjoyed hanging out with your family, watching hockey and fights. I'm going to miss this... :( But I'm glad you got the plumbing done and are almost ready to get wet and salty!! I got pulled over 3 miles from the house by a Blount county sheriff and received a speeding warning lol! Coolest cop ever!!

Joey, BRS has a very good selection of plumbing parts, including gateway valves.

Oh heck, I just noticed you got it all glued! Nice work man!!! You've been much busier than I have this morning lol!!

Yash, why did you add that one coupler on the left drain, right above the sump? I don't remember that being there last night lol! I can guess and say you needed to add some length to it lol. Did you have to cut some off the 45 length to get it straight?

Thanks guys!

Joey - you can gate valves at any hardware store. However most reefers recommend getting them from BRS as they are a higher quality and won't fail as easily as the hardware store pieces.

Doug - sucks that you got pulled over man but glad you got a cool cop! It was great hanging out and watching sports and drinking cold ones in between plumbing [emoji4]

Regarding the coupler, yeah I had to extend the horizontal piece of pipe. After all the joints pulled in from sealing, the primary overflow pipe got in the way so I had to extend the other one just a bit. I just cut the horizontal piece and added a new piece with the coupler.

I looked at Lowe's and HD and could not find any PVC gate valves. I'm going t try to get to a hardware store tomorrow.

You won't find quality valves at local hardware stores. Just the cheaper ball valves. You might try a plumbing supply company or as stated, you're best bet is to order from BRS.

Looks great! Can't wait to see updates

Thank you! I wanted to do a leak test today but by the time I got done with the plumbing I was so wiped out from working on the tank all weekend that I decided to put it off. I'll probably do it next weekend since I'd like to be home all day when I run the test in case of any leaks.

Leak test completed after a minor hiccup with bulkhead installation. Tank has been moved to its permanent location, rock work completed and she is wet and salty [emoji1] Water is super cloudy right now as expected but here's a picture in any case. Will post another picture once the tank clears.
Now on to the rock cycling process! Hope it is quick and painless!
