Looking at dabbling with a sb reef light for my 40 mainly LPS up top and SPS in the lower middle. I already have 1 LED fixture with just not enough par and wanting a better spectrum it has great features but not powerful enough. Soooo I was wondering if you'd think adding the 16" basic to my already LEF lit LPS with a couple basic sps (birdsnest and monti cap) tank to help get a better spread and more par?

It’ll be uneven lighting. The BBs becuse of the lenses give a pretty much strait down shaft of light.
A 16x 8 Light gives a 18-19in in x 12-13 in from 12 inches.
I think you’d be better served ,if you want to just add, looking at the Sbar from SB. Same spectrum but long to fit the tank.

My .03 cents.
